Quick Fixes = False Fixes

Just as easy as it is to give into a crying baby or a toddler throwing a tantrum, we do this with ourselves when our feelings or physical state gets uncomfortable. It's just easier to give in to weakness, but at what cost? If you continue to choose the quick fix, the shortcut no matter the consequence, you will never achieve long-lasting health or happiness. I can tell you this from my own personal experience. Most of us walk around like two-year-olds demanding instant gratification desperately trying to console ourselves externally when we are feeling our neuroses set in. We coddle our fears when we need to be reinforcing our strengths. I was using sugary food for immediate gratification and avoidance. I was resisting connecting to my higher self. Sugar is a drug that keeps us disconnected from our power and the world around us. We all know when raising a child that we will make that child stronger if we let them learn to soothe themselves, why don't we do this for ourselves? Just because we are feeling stress mentally or physically does not mean we need to act on it. Quick fixes are false fixes. They only put a temporary bandaid on the situation, not addressing the real problem.
